Sippy Cup

Lily has been going crazy over my water bottles and any drinks that I have. If I take a drink, she just has to take a "drink" too. So, I thought maybe she was ready for a sippy cup. We got these 4+ month sippy cups and she figured it out. She can chew on it or suck to get the fluid out. She thought it was cool.

5 Month Updates

Lily is 20 weeks old as of yesterday. Wow...time does fly!
We traveled to Ohio this past weekend to celebrate our newphew Kyle's surprise 16th birthday. He was surprised, so that was pretty cool.
We drove down on Friday night, so we would be driving while Lily slept. She did really well. We hung out at the hotel during the day and when Lily napped...so did we! It was nice just relaxing with my family. Lily had a long day on Saturday with the party and meeting a bunch of new people. She is starting to be afraid of strangers and she cried a few times at her aunt Kim until she got used to her. Poor Kim...we were feeling badly for her that Lily kept crying! She eventually got over being afraid and had a good time at the party.
We drove home during the day on Sunday and Lily did very well with that too.

Lily has been enjoying solid foods lately. She has had: sweet pototoes, pears (really liked these), bananas and carrots. She is doing very well with the new foods.

First Solid...

Today Lily got to have her first serving of rice cereal from a bowl! She wore more of it than she ate. But she had fun doing it. She wanted to feed herself. Here are a few pictures of her experience.

It's a Miracle or it's the Tylenol

So...at 5:30am I woke up and freaked out...Lily never woke up during the night. I rush into her room and she was still in the same position I left her in 7 hours!!! Let's see if this sleeping all night turns into a habit! Cross your fingers!

18 Week Well Baby Check-up (4+ months)

Lily went for her "4" month shots and check up today and she is doing great!! She cried for the shots. I am sure she will be sore and crabby today. Poor baby! She also scratched herself in the eye this morning and has a little cut on her cornea But she will be fine.
Stats: 27.5 inches long (well above average for her age) & 16.01 Pounds!
Doctor said we can start introducing foods if we would like. First rice cereal for a few days, then veggies and then fruit. Pretty exciting for baby! We also need to get her out in the sun for some vitamin D! So, grandma is taking her out for a walk today. Lily spent some time outside with mommy throwing the ball for Frankie yesterday too. It's starting to get nice outside.

Last night, Lily and I purchased this walker for her and the little shoes so she gets some traction on the floors. She was getting the hang of it last night and enjoyed playing with the little toys on the tray. I searched for a simple walker without ALL the extras. I think once she really figures out how to move around...watch out!

I took this picture of Lily this morning. She was playing with her toys and started to get tired. I wrapped her in the blanket and out she went. Time for mommy to eat breakfast and workout.

So, do you think Lily will get one for her first birthday??? Ahhhh...doubt it! Unless I win the lottery or something!

Dinner Party

This weekend, the family traveled down to Wilmington to have dinner and visit with Janene and Jon. Lily was a good girl and enjoyed her time with everyone. Joe and I had a great time as well. It's nice hanging out with friends. I just have to make a point to do it more often. Dinner was great! Thanks Janene and Jon. Your house looked fantastic too!! Here is a picture of Lily. She wore this cute little hoodie! Believe it or not...that's a 6-9 month outfit!

Here is a picture of Lily falling back asleep this morning around 7am. She LOVES having the blanket wrapped around her little face. Give her the "suckie" and wrap her in the blankie...and off to la-la-land she goes!

Graduation News

As some of you know, I was unable to walk for my graduation on December 13th because I had Lily a few days before. Needless to say, I was really bummed about missing my graduation for my Master's degree. Well, Lewis was nice enough to allow me to walk in May 2009. So, I will be "officially" graduating on May 16th! How exciting. I may have to throw a little get together. I will keep everyone posted.

Rolling over

Everyone keep your finger's crossed...Lily is on the verge of rolling from her side onto her stomach. She did it a few times yesterday. I will post up a video once she masters the skill!
